“I’m writing this to tell you a little about Chris Newcomer. My mother had a very bad stroke which left her in a paralyzed state. She was also deaf and blind, but her mind was perfect. This is when we met Chris.  

Chris is very caring, dependable, honest, and truly won my mom’s heart. I worked nights so Chris came around 5pm and stayed until I got home around 10:30pm. I trusted her and never worried while I worked. I knew she would do whatever mom wanted or needed. My mom’s mind was very sharp and if something wasn’t right, she could tell me. She always gave Chris an A+. Never did she complain about Chris. Even when we ran out of money and mom had to go to a nursing home, Chris went to see her and stayed in touch.

“I highly recommend Chris Newcomer for a senior companion and aide. We hired Chris to be a companion-caregiver for our ailing father who was a resident of the Loveland Health Care facility here in Ohio. Knowing that this potentially could be the last year of our father’s life, we wanted to find someone who would be patient, kind, humorous and most important, reliable.  

We feel like we hit the lottery with Chris.  My father truly grew to love her.  He would light up every time she came to spend time with him.  And she was a huge help to me, his daughter and POA, as being a second set of ears and eyes at the facility our father lived in.  I could always trust that should be act on behalf of my father’s best interest with the nursing staff as if I were there myself and that brought me great comfort to know we had one more person making sure he was receiving the care we were paying for. 

Our favorite thing about Chris was her compassion.  She had a deep understanding of personal care, friendship and patience which made our fathers time with her immeasurable. "Chris Newcomer was a caretaker for my mother after she suffered a stroke. Mom was paralyzed and totally unable to care for herself in any way. It was our plan to keep her from going to a nursing facility and being able to stay in her home. We were able to accomplish this for three years by finding Chris who would come to her home, bathe her, feed her, and care for her every need. Sometimes on her days off, Chris would even stop by to visit mom if she was in the neighborhood.

Chris was loyal, dedicated and very dependable. My sisters and I would alternate spending the nights with mom and have to get ready for work in the mornings. We could always count on Chris to be on time so we could leave and arrive to work on time. Also, during the time she cared for mom, there was not one day that she didn't show up. We never worried about mom when Chris was with her. 

After three years, it was necessary to have mom go to a nursing home. Even when Chris no longer took care of her, she would come to the nursing home to spend time with her. Not only is Chris a wonderful caregiver, but she also became our friend and I know that she truly loved our mother and would do anything for her. “A few years ago my mother needed in home care. She required care both during the day and overnight.  I needed to hire several people to cover the times my siblings and I couldn’t. Chris was one of those ladies. 

My mother had several health issues and physical limitations. Chris was very knowledgeable in caring for her. She managed my mother’s medicine, personal hygiene care, oxygen and food preparation. In addition, Chris was compassionate and caring towards my mother. She was on time, and came to work dressed appropriately. On more than one occasion, she would stay longer when needed and was willing to work extra shifts too.
